Due to the suckish economy, I along with many other people can NOT afford to buy music. And since illegal downloading is…well…illegal I’ve done some research on places to get free music legally. Go to this website to get some free music from Urban Outfitters:

The majority of the music on Urban Outfitters is indie rock, alternative, and pop. But if those just aren’t your genre of choice…you can go to this website:

On IndieFeed, there’s a wide variety of music to listen to. There’s alternative rock, indie pop, hip hop, electronica, dance, and blues. These are all super easy to download…and completely legal! Hooray for obeying the laws! You can also subscribe to IndieFeed on iTunes, which is a little more convenient. Some awesome bands I found on IndieFeed are: Jay Reatard, Frightened Rabbit, The Decemberists, Dog Day, We Were Promised Jet Packs, Gentleman Auction House, Oxford Collapse, Modey Lemon, The Presidents of the United States of America, Los Campesinos!, and The Phenomenal Hand Clap Band.

If you’re not too into the Indie scene, no worries! Just go to this website:

Fuse is a cable channel that is similar to MTV…only better. They play almost every type of music out there! On this website, you can get songs from artists that have had their videos played on Fuse recently. The music given away on this site is much more mainstream than IndieFeed and Urban Outfitters.

I hope this was helpful to those of you who are cursing iTunes right now! Keep checking these sites for new opportunities to get music. Enjoy!

(P.S) I didn’t write the very first article…the one about The Big Pink, but you can get a really good song called “Dominos” by them on the Urban Outfitters LSTN #7
